NTT Innovative Devices is the only device manufacturing company among the NTT groups. Most of the service and key devices are provided using advanced technologies from NTT Laboratories. The Digital Video division began with MPEG-2 LSI “VASA” products which later became the de facto standard in broadcasting and telecommunications systems. NTT Innovative Devices is working to update the LSI consumer line-up and develop new compression products using H.264/AVC images. With the expansion of digital broadcasting, these LSIs are used by a wide range of domestic and foreign electrical and radio equipment manufacturers. NTT is also manufacturing a line of Codec solutions for UHD HEVC contribution links.
